Its most striking feature is the serene blue wash across its throat area — a subtle yet captivating trait that evokes the gentleness of a kiss. This elegant little goby adds a dash of color and charming activity to nano or biotope-style aquariums, especially thriving in planted or stream-inspired setups.

Care Instructions

• Tank Setup:

  • Ideal for a 10-gallon (40 L) tank. Use fine sand or smooth gravel substrate along with rocks or small caves to simulate its natural habitat.

• Water Conditions:

  • Prefer clean, gently flowing water with high oxygen levels. Provide moderate filtration and gentle water movement to mimic a stream environment.

• Water Parameters:

  • Maintain stable temperatures between 20–24 °C and a neutral to mild pH.

• Diet:

  • Omnivorous—feeds enthusiastically on small live or frozen foods like daphnia, brine shrimp, and micro-invertebrates. Gradually offer fine flake or micro-pellet foods as well.

• Behavior & Tankmates:

  • Peaceful, bottom-dwelling species. Best kept with small, non-aggressive tankmates that don’t outcompete for food.

• Security:

  • A secure lid is highly recommended—gobies can be surprisingly mobile jumpers when startled.
