Care Instructions

  • Tank Setup:

    • Minimum size: 45 × 30 cm base tank (around 40 L) works well with proper filtration and hiding spots.

    • Substrate: Soft sand or fine coral sand, with rocks, driftwood, and shells to create caves and shelter.

  • Water Conditions:

    • They thrive in freshwater to mildly brackish environments; stable water parameters are essential for health and stress reduction.

  • Diet:

    • Carnivorous; prefers small live or frozen foods like daphnia, bloodworms, and micro crustaceans. May accept sinking pellets if acclimated. Behavior & Social Setup:

    • Semi-aggressive with territorial tendencies; best kept in groups of 6–10 to spread out any aggression.

    • Ideal tankmates include peaceful mid-water species like glassfish or livebearers—avoid very small fish or inverts.

  • Maintenance:

    • Sensitive to water quality—small, frequent water changes and careful monitoring are recommended to prevent disease.
