The Yellow Kogal Tetra (Moenkhausia sp.), also known as the Kogal Blue-Eyed Tetra, is a striking species native to the upper Rio Machado in the Rio Madeira River Basin, Brazil. This species is characterized by its golden iridescent body and a distinctive dark horizontal line that crosses its bright blue eyes. Additionally, it displays an elongated horizontal blotch on its caudal peduncle, enhancing its visual appeal.Β

Habitat: Prefers aquariums with plenty of aquatic plants, open swimming spaces, and subdued lighting or shade. Using a dark substrate will enhance their beautiful coloration.Β
