🧬 Natural Habitat

In the wild, B. beggini inhabits areas with boulders and granitic bedrock in the Guiana Shield, feeding on periphyton and associated microfauna found on rock surfaces. 

🧪 Care Requirements

Tank Size:
Minimum 75 gallons (284 liters) for a single adult; larger tanks are recommended for multiple individuals.

Water Parameters:

• Temperature: 24–30°C (75–86°F)

• pH: 6.0–7.2

• Hardness: Soft to moderately hard

Diet:
Omnivorous; prefers a diet rich in protein and fiber. Suitable foods include sinking pellets, algae wafers, spirulina, and occasional meaty treats like bloodworms. 

Tank Setup:

• Decor: Provide ample driftwood, caves, and rocky structures to mimic natural habitats and offer hiding spots.

• Filtration: Strong filtration is essential to maintain water quality.

• Flow: Moderate to strong water flow is beneficial.

🐠 Behavior & Compatibility

• Temperament: Generally peaceful but can be territorial, especially towards other bottom dwellers.

• Tankmates: Compatible with other peaceful species; avoid aggressive or overly active fish.

• Activity: Nocturnal; may be shy during the day but becomes more active at night.
