Care Instructions

• Tank Requirements: This is a large, fast-growing fish—juveniles only should be considered for very large aquaria, ponds, or outdoor water gardens.

• Water Conditions: Needs spacious, well-oxygenated tanks with strong water flow, high-quality filtration, and clean, clear water to mimic its natural habitat in swift rivers.

• Diet: Omnivorous; thrives on a varied diet of high-protein pellets, live or frozen fish, crustaceans, and insect-based foods.

• Behavior & Compatibility: Generally peaceful but powerful swimmers; best housed singly or in groups in suitably large setups and kept with robust, similarly sized tankmates.

• Important Note: Due to their rapid growth potential (up to 60 cm or more), they are not suitable for standard home aquariums and require serious long-term planning.
