Its natural habitat includes cool, well-oxygenated streams and estuaries, where it exhibits dynamic movements and territorial behaviors. In the aquarium, it adds a splash of color and activity to the bottom and mid-water regions.

  • Substrate: Fine sand or a mix of sand and small pebbles

  • Decor: Rocks, driftwood, and caves to simulate natural hiding spots

• Diet:

  • Omnivorous

  • Accepts high-quality flakes, micro pellets, and small live or frozen foods like daphnia and bloodworms

• Behavior & Tankmates:

  • Generally peaceful but may exhibit mild territoriality

  • Best kept with similarly sized, non-aggressive species

  • Avoid housing with small invertebrates, as they may become prey
