🧰 Care Instructions
Tank Size: Minimum 20 gal (~75 L), ideal for small groups.
Water Conditions:
Temperature: 16–22 °C (61–72 °F)
pH: Neutral (~7.0)
Hardness: Approximately 20 °dGH (moderately hard)
Substrate & Decor: Use smooth sand or fine gravel with rocks and driftwood to provide grazing zones and cover. Keep water clean with good filtration.
Diet: Omnivorous or carnivorous—feeds on bottom invertebrates and detritus; can be offered sinking pellets, frozen or live foods, and detritus/grazing material.
Behavior & Social Needs: Peaceful, sociable fish best kept in small groups (at least 3+). They interact among tankmates and exhibit charming midwater fluttering and bottom exploring behavior.
Maintenance: Regular water changes (20–30%) and clean mature tank conditions are key. Avoid over-cleaning substrate that supports their natural foraging.
