The Redfin Penguin Tetra (Thayeria sp.) is a captivating freshwater fish native to the Amazon Basin. Recognized for its unique appearance, it features a slender body with a distinctive black lateral line and vibrant red tail fins, resembling a penguin's coloration.

Size: Typically reaches up to 5 cm in length.

Temperament: This species is peaceful and thrives in schools of at least six individuals, promoting natural behavior and reducing stress.

Habitat: Prefers densely planted aquariums with subdued lighting, mimicking its natural Amazonian environment.

Water Parameters:

• pH: 6.0–7.5

• Temperature: 24–28°C (75–82°F)

• Hardness: Soft to moderately hard 

Diet: Omnivorous; accepts high-quality flake foods, live or frozen brine shrimp, and bloodworms.

Tankmates: Ideal companions include other peaceful species like rasboras, danios, and small cichlids. Avoid aggressive or larger fish that may intimidate or harm them.

Breeding: Spawning occurs in well-planted tanks with slightly acidic water. Post-spawning, remove adults to prevent egg predation. Fry hatch within 24–36 hours and can be fed infusoria or finely crushed flake food.
